Is the T206 Green Cobb overvalued?

The T206 Green Cobb has been on fire for the past few years. Are the high valuations justified? Let’s take a look.

According to PSA population reports, there are 708 graded Green Cobbs. For comparison sake, there are 735 graded Bat on Shoulder Cobbs.

Based on the populations, you would expect the cards to trade around the same price point. According to VCP, that’s not the case at all.

As you can see, the Green Cobbs are trading at more than twice the value of the Bat on Shoulder Cobbs. Why is that? My two cents: buzz and momentum trading. My assessment is that the Bat on Shoulder Cobbs are a much better investment. What do you think?
