The 1993 SP Derek Jeter rookie card is one of the hottest cards on the market. The valuations have skyrocketed. Check out the recent spike in the BGS 9 variation. The value has more than doubled in a year.

What driving the valuation? Are people anticipating Jeter’s induction into the HOF? Is PWCC really impacting the hobby this much? Is Gary Vaynerchuk cornering the market?

Maybe all of these things are true. But the one thing that strikes me is that there is a TON of supply of this card. I understand that Derek Jeter is one of the most popular athletes of all time. Demand is high.

But there are ~15k graded BGS examples. Forget about PSA and SGC. That’s a lot of cards!!
